I just thought I owed it to Porsche to let you know how utterly fantastic they were with the recalls (yes, more than one) that were due on my 1991 N-GT.

1. Took the car in on Tuesday
2. They loaned me a new Gen 2 Caymen S --- fabulous engine !
3. They fitted a new rear brake balance valve and new steering components [&o]
4. It took them more than twice the Porsche allotted time
5. They did a full vehicle health check
6. I picked the car up on Friday ---

--- and it cost me nothing more than the petrol I put in the Caymen.

This is total CLASS [8D]

It is a "free" service from Taiwan POC for my RS! I originl just want a factory certificate and end up with recall check...
 
Suprised they changed the rear brake balance valve. I was reliably informed that the actual fault that the recall was for, would be very noticable if the valve was faulty(think it actually had something to do with the valve being installed incorrectly when factory fitted). Given this re call is years old I would have thought the valve was unlikely to have been one of the "wrong ones". Sounds like you got some very good "good will" . Same is true for the recall associated with the abs pump.
 
No, the abs pump was down to me --- three days before Spa !!!

It was a price indication .... wish it had been part of the recall [;)]
