Porsche Classic Radio Navigation 2015

Sorry no experience of that unit, however it does look like a more up to date version of the VDO Dayton 4150 which I just bought off eBay for £60.00

Link is of same product: http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/auto-diversen/accessoires-navigatiesystemen/m869793200-compleet-vdo-dayton-ms-4150-rs-mp3-10-navi-cds-2013-2014.html

Central Sat Nav and in the unit itself looking in keeping with the era of the car.

Many thanks for that is very helpful. I am looking for a 'in keeping' audio upgrade and have struggled for good options.

This was recommended on another forum and it looks very good.. and bleedin cheap to.

That is a lovely bit of kit and if I did more miles as a daily driver I'd be sorely tempted. Not keen on the USB ports on the cable though, that looks a bit naff but the unit itself is very nice.

just checked that retro unit is £900 inc vat !!!

Ouch, I've been looking at something more in keeping but there's a lot more I can do to the S2 for £900. Not that bothered about the nav either, wounder if there is something similar without it?

They used to be regularly available on eBay for around £50, but that doesn't seem to be the case now.

I have a Becker Traffic Pro but Id like something with a similar appearance which can deal with MP3s too. I wish Id bought a VDO when they were plentiful.

hmm thought porsche favoured becker as their starting point for audio?

The becker traffic pro is nice, the becker mexico nav is amazing if not a bit retro for the 944s

If you have big money how about a mcintosh:

I personally think a Becker looks spot on in a 944.

This is what I had in my S, and now in my Turbo:

Becker DTM High Speed.

I would say though, something like the VDO is probably more usable as a sat nav. I used it in my S and it is a bit of a faff to select destination, etc - but once set it wasn't too bad, my disc is a bit out of date so it did get confused occasionally. Since fitting it into my Turbo I have not wired up the reverse signal, and it doesn't seem to work properly as it won't find the location - will wire it in at some point, but most of the time we just use google maps on our phones.
