Hello,

is there any reason why these wouldn't fit an S2:

"Porsche 911/964/965 17" cup alloy wheels, factory. Part numbers 965.362.124.01( x 2) 7Jx17 ET55 and 965.362.124.01 ( x2) ET52 8Jx17"

Many thanks.

Herbie, I was looking at those, saw no reason why they wont, the offset is correct for a later hub like the S2, I've just won a set of cup 3's that are the same size, so I hope so!!

I thought so, offset of ET55 front and ET52 rear should be OK I'm pretty sure. Stud pattern is the same.

I've found another set of secondhand Cup wheels online:

FRONT: 7 1/2Jx17H2, ET 52
REAR: 9Jx17H2, ET 47

Other than being 17" all other measurements are quite different than the 1st set. Did Porsche really make such a variety of the same style of wheel? Also same question again, but would these be OK for a 944 S2?

Sorry is this is a bit of a silly question, I'm learning all the time!! [;)]

TTM is correct.

The 7.5" wide fronts and 9" wide rears are as-per-968 and ideally what you want. With these rims you'd fit 225/45 fronts and 255/40 rears to keep the handling balance neutral.

I almost bought a nicely refurbed set of 7" fronts and 8" rears for our S2, but :-

1. They won't fill the arches as well as the slightly wider rims, so for aesthetics I would have kept my 7mm front shims and 15mm rear spacers on.

2. the rears won't take the 255/40 tyres you would normally fit. 225/45/17 would fit and give the correct gearing, and you could stretch to 235/45/17 but they are a slightly oddball size and therefore expensive. Although the fronts will (just) take the 225/45/17 you want to fit to that end, it's too close in size to the rears (IMHO) and I probably would have stuck with a 205 section on the front to keep the handling balance. These widths are as per the OEM D90's so I would have gained response from the shorter sidewalls and perhaps a smidge more grip, but not as much as putting the "correct" tyres on.

Net result = decided not to bother [8|]

Thanks for the responses, sounds like i'll leave the first set and concentrate on the second as these look like the ideal choice.
Thanks guys.
