Found this while looking for the decals I'ld need after re-spraying the car. The one I am looking for is 19 dollars. Knowing my luck it will cost 300 to ship it and then the Irish government will want to charge me VAT of 500%.
Apologies if this was already out there, but I'm new here cos there is no site like this on my island.

Thanks for those links..if i ever get my 944 back it needs a new PORSCHE accross the back.I was wondering where to go for one..are they easy to get off/put on ?

I heard good things from the rennlist guys about those decals. Not tried 'em myself though.

When putting on Vinyl stickers, a light (an I mean light) spray of washing up liquid & water allows you a quick go at repositioning. The easiest way though is to line up the backing paper using masking tape to get things in the right place, then spray it, and go for it. Only take off the backing when you're sure it's in the right spot!

With large decals, and even small solid stickers, floating them into position on a film of soapy water is by far the best way of doing it. Not wishing to contradict Mike, but I have found that you can use a significant amount of water - the more the better. Once the sticker is where you want it you then squeegee the water out from underneath which also expels 99% of the air bubbles and will float out any dust.

Cut vinyl graphics can be a little more tricky as, if they don't adhere to the base, it can be difficult to remove the carrying paper without lifting the vinyl. In this instant you either go with it dry or spend a lot more attention on the squeegeeing bit. If time is available to leave the carrying paper on for 24 hrs this can help.

Water floated stickers seem to shrink onto the surface after a period of time so if there are some marks or bubbles left after the initial sticking these can often shrink out after a few days or so.

Hi all,
I'm new here as well, this being my first post!
I have a signmaking business so if anyone needs graphics done just let me know.
Post to Ireland is only a couple of quid!
Cheers

John, I just found with the smaller more complicated decals that if you used a lot of water, then it tended to soak into the backing and create a right mess, or, as you said (sort of) to make it even harder to sperate the vinyl from the backing. I agree with big a$$ "alpine" stickers on your civic, then it is easier to soak them!

"Pioneer" on ma Civic m8, it's da bomb, innit?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Actually the genuine "Turbo" graphic on the front wing (the one with the Marmite-esque polarisation of opinion on it) is pretty big a$$.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Hi Joe,

Welcome to the forum and sorry I have to jump on you straight away - PCGB Forum prohibits self promotion so you are very naughty and don't do it again.

Just to srike a ballance - Eastendr also produces vinyl graphics, as many of you will know. Perhaps, if one were considering such things, one should seek comparative prices including delivery and fitting at a Porsche event. [;)]

does that answer the question ? [:D]

OOps!
Sorry about that bit of self promotion - won't happen again and I didn't know there was another signmaker on here.
I was only trying to help the lad in Ireland out.
Cheers
Joe

Chips £3

Plate of chips for 3 quid!!!! That doesn't sound very cheap to me.

Some good links and advice on this thread - I've got a new stoneguard decal myself that has to go on this afternoon so I'll be out with the fairy liquid, once I've popped out to the local chippy

I'm famished now after looking at that plate [;)]

Perhaps the photo has been enhanced, but the Porscheshop one looks a little different to the original to me. I'm not a great fan of Porscheshop, so I could be biased though.

It might be worth checking the OPC price as i could be wrong, it's a loooooong time since I bought one and it was from Chapelgate (my least favourite OPC).[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I happen to know that the OPC want £18 for an S2 decal and Porscheshop have it up at £22 on that link which is about par for the course in my experience. Maybe I should start "PorscheEmporium" and just buy stuff from Adrian and sell it at a 20% markup...[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
