Porsche Driving Experience

I have just been offered a choice of a 24 Hr Boxster test drive or a Boxster driving experience. Has anyone taken the driving experience? How was it? Your car or theirs? Any comments gratefully recieved.
Tony.

If I were you I would go for the driving experience with their car and as far as I understand they will let you try another Porsche of your choice too.

If you ask and show interest, another OPC will give you the Boxster 24hr test drive without effort...

Hi Tony

I did the Boxster Driving Experience last November. Far better than a test drive! Two hours on an airfield doing stuff you cannot do on the roads. You get to experience just what a great car the Boxster is!

Regards

Hi
I did the Porsche Driving Experience in the summer and it was a very enjoyable day.
Its not the best 'track day' that I have been on, but it was easily the most impressive set up.
A lot of time is happily whiled away having breakfast, lunch, a medical, being driven in a Cayenne, etc as well as driving on the 'ice hill', 'polished road', 'skid track' and other experiences.
There is also a collection of 911s to look at and you can try a 'Classic 911'.
You might find that there is not a lot of time over for a drive round Silverstone proper, but who wouldn't want to?
If you are after some real serious driving then I think that Jonathan Palmer's set-up at Bedford is the best out there.
Six or seven different cars, including a 911, on different tracks and full pelt round a proper track in a single seater.
I am sure you will have a great time at PDE.

Hi, I got a freebie driving experiance last year to try a new c4s at silverstone.
It was excellent, the ice hill and kick plate really open your eyes, for when things go wrong.
I also got a good few laps around their track. I thought I was doing well till the instructor showed me what it could really do. (wish I took a spare pair of Calvin Kleins)
Wouldn't fancy using my own car it would probably end up in carboard boxes...
Didn't get the offer to drive on the circuit, but it would be worth it just to tell my mates down the pub.
I am thinking of doing a track craft course (£265) soon. Have you paid for your driving experiance?

Regards Gary

Thanks for your replies.

No, I haven't paid for the main experience as it was a perk of buying an ex-demo from an OPC. Really looking forward to it!

Sounds as though the extra £175 would be money well spent on a thrash around Silverstone! Is there anyone out there who has had a go at that? What was it like?
