I received my letter from Porsche informing me of the cost relating to the extended warranty. There are two different costs, depending if I renew before my existing warranty expires or after. In the letter they make reference to a 111 point check that must be undertaken as part of the warranty, however there is no costing of this. Contacting my local dealership I was informed the cost of the 111 point check was a further £216! I asked why was this cost not mentioned in the detailed letter informing me of the various costs from Porsche UK. I was informed I would have to take the matter up with Porsche UK themselves. If the car is still in the original warranty, why do I have to pay for a 111 check to continue the warranty if it has not lapsed? I can understand the need for paying for a check of the car if the car was not in warranty. But I take exception to paying a further £216, on top of the £1,020 annual warranty (£1,236 for 1 year or £2,056 for 24 months). I appreciate that I can make a saving if I opt for the 24 month extension as I’d only have to pay once for the 111 check.
As I don't do many miles in the car, currently just over 10K over three years, the cost of the warranty seems high, and the letter from Porsche UK annoyed me, not mentioning the mandatory cost of the 111 check. I am interested in looking elsewhere for warranty cover.
Searching the forum I have noticed some members have used various providers, one of which is called ‘MotorEasy’. I also have heard of ‘Warranty Direct’ and ‘Warrantywise’.
So I ask, do you recommend a third party company to provide car repair warranty insurance for your 991? Do you have experience of claiming for any repairs through one of these companies?

Options available
- Go with Porsche UK warranty
- Do not take up warranty and keep the cost as backup if a repair is needed (my wife’s preferred option!)
- Go with a third party independent warranty provider and if so which one!
