Porsche Festival Brands Hatch

Spent a great day at Brands but the 997 Register was conspicuous by its absence. Quite a few 997's scattered about though.

I was also there on the Sunday and looked in vain for the 997 Register area. Great day out, anyway! Cheekily tried to get the guy who was driving the Carrera GT on the parade laps to have me as his passenger but no such luck.[:(]

Hello both of you. Sorry I was not there to provide you with copious hospitality etc on the Saturday. However I had repeatedly asked Register members to let me know if they were attending and only two bothered to tell me. Sadly I am not clairvoyant nor am I undispensible! As I was not there on Saturday, why did you not set up the Register area? I would have gladly deputised you for the day!

That said, I agree that the Register situation for the Festival left a lot to be desired. In previous years we have had gazebos, signposts, hospitality, roped off areas etc. This year we were not allowed any of that. Whereas in previous years I have counted hundreds of cars in the Register enclosures, this year, at midday, I counted a parking lot of just 40 cars!

Sorry.

By the way, the majority of the 997s on Sunday were not owned by Register or even Club members!

Hi Derek,

Please note that I was in no way making a criticism of your, or PCGB's, organisational skills. I posted as I thought that maybe I had somehow failed to locate the Register area on the Sunday.

Agree with Derek that the register displays were not as good as previous years, but overall a great weekend, I thought.
Thought the Evolution display looked good, and here's a pic for those that missed the Festival.
The mix of displays and racing and parade laps made for an entertaining weekend. Would find it difficult to fill two days looking purely at static displays.

That chaps name was Dickie Attwood. Not a bad driver by all acccounts! :ROFLMAO:

If you wanted a HOT LAP session in a Carrera GT we had one booked for Monday. It was also in the best colour we've seen on a Carrera GT - Fayence Yellow.

They sound as good in the cockpit as they do outside.

Tried to persuade a few Carrera GT owners to do the hot laps but most of them just glazed over and £££££ signs appeared.

Thanks Gary - I'll have to remember that for next year!
