Porsche Festival, Brands Hatch

There are a few of us who may well be camping if you are interested.

As in ooh - ducky? [;)]

I think we're only doing the Sunday (jeez what a memory) so I've probably gone off prematurely (no comments please) - just wondered if anyone was thinking about setting off from Regiment way on any of the days. The Essex masseev giving it large...

I am planning to go Sun and Mon so camping could be fun. Can use all my new Le Mans gear...... I'm up for it wots the plan....

Well it's one of those plans that is still at a conceptual stage at this moment. I believe Rob & Gail are camping and the Essex crew and 944 brigade have formed a mass possy in the past - safety in numbers and all that. Essex members with their engines in the wrong place are initiated as honourary 944 owners on these occasions.

There are several traits necessary for acceptance to this elite brigade:-

1. An abillity to consume and retain drinks without considering going to bed before 2:30am

2. A love of camp fires

3. The abillity to source, obtain and deliver firewood, by stealthy means if necessary, at any time of day or (more likely) night.

4. In depth knowledge on a host of subjects to be debated at length and as dawn breaks.

5. Tact and diplomacy to be employed when joined by Tiddly Toffs with their Tippsy Totty when they are thrown out of the posh do. I'm not sure if we will have Nick with us this year, so we might be at a loss to match them interlectually though.

Moving forward on the planing:-

It would appear that little is happening on the Saturday but you would want to be at Brands nice and early Sunday morning for the 7:30 am World Record attempt.

To this end, I propose we cruise round to Brands on Saturday afternoon to set up camp in the early evening. We then BBQ, and have a few lemonades so as to be on hand bright and early on Sunday. Camp again Sunday night and go home Monday evening. As we are relatively close to Brands I didn't see the point in camping for just one night.

What do you think?

Well Steve and I definitely wont be there as we'll be sunning it up on our holidays - i'd tell you where but it's meant to be a surprise for his birthday so I don't want to let the cat out of the bag.

The plus side of course is that you're spared my drunken warblings and the instant knowledge of life, the universe and everything which I instantly acquire after the 5th gin and tonic! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Please take pictures.

xx

Well my plans have been scuppered. [:(] The only day I can make is Saturday, however I see on the Porsche Festival website there's a daytrip to France and/or a drive through Kent arranged. (I'll be desperate to try out my new B&M short shift so those trips sound good). Does anyone know what time the doors open on Saturday or where I can more info about the trips?
