Hi guys

The Ace cafe meets came up doing a conversation at Rutland's this weekend, I haven't been for a while but was thinking of going along this month. Hopefully, the weather will be kind and with lighter evenings it could be a nice meet.
Is anyone here planning to go on 27th?...... if so please say so here to see if we can get a few 944's at the event. If you want a good spot it's best to arrive early, food is pretty good too.

Pete

I've been a couple of times, but its a long way for an evening after work.......Max and Glenn often go I think.

Would have love to but will have to wait till next meet, As im still awaiting short block and conrods ect for the engine build! ??

Have fun!

Looking forward to welcoming you all tomorrow at our first 'not totally dark' meet of the 2017 season.

Well, I'm half way through getting the car presentable for tonight....I should be there but still, can't confirm...I had to drive up to Tring late last night (and then again at 3am) to collect my grandson as his mother began going into labour....still have him now but luckily my wife managed to take the day off work. So yes I should be there as long as everything is ok with my grandson and his mum and dad....

cheers

Pete

i am going to have a go but the North circular at rush hour from my end to hanger lane might be a bridge too far lol,,,,jasonp

i came off at Enfield and had a cuppa with my friend who i was supposed to see on Sunday,,,,
Will need to leave much,,much earlier next time to arrive at a decent time

A few pictures from tonight's meet...I would say there were approx 50+ porches present ...

It was good to see Nick, Glen and Rick tonight, had a long chat with Rick, we shared many a happy memory, chatting about a few of the old 944 members on this forum...you know who you are....:)....I had to leave earlier than planned....sorry Glen, tried to find you to say goodbye....hope to go again soon....

Pete

shame you didn't make it Jason, it was a good turnout, perhaps next time...Glen is a regular, I'll try to make more meets..

Pete

Ah well, Pete and I flew the flag for the 944s. There were 3 or 4 928s there to add some bulk to the front engined brigade. I love how egalitarian these meets are, the 918 Spyder got there a bit late and had to park outside due to a full car park. [:D]

Good to meet everyone tonight ... it got even busier as the sun set.

Re: the 918 in the outfield, that's what we love and everyone knows about our Ace Cafe meets, first come first served, no special reserved areas. You get there late and it's outside no matter how special your car is or famous you are. The owner was cool about it and will be back .... earlier next time. Now if he's going to beat the trans-axle display team he'd better park the day before [:D]

Great Pics, looks like a great meet. Wish I could have made it, maybe next month...what's Rick driving these days then Pete?

He still has his Daimler and trusty rangerover...it was good chatting...he misses his 944...sat in mine to reminist...asked me yo open the bonnet which resulted in the two of us getting swarmed.....:)

Maybe slightly off topic (although it does require your bonnet to be open Pete!), did you get your hoses in the UK or from LR? I'm looking to do mine and can't find a UK 'kit' supplier...

Hi Phil

I got mine from the UK....I used Performance Silicone Hoses, for obvious reasons....:)...there are others though..

Pete

i must say Pete,,when your bonnet is up,,the engine bay looks so good with those blue hoses,,,,,
think i have my cam cover painted when she goes in for a re-paint as under my bonnet is very clean,,,,,,jasonp
