Porsche museum visit

Planning a little jolly over the Stuttgart next summer (we have to go in the summer holidays as Mrs Pezky is a teacher)
How long should we allow for a visit to the museum & factory tour?

Factory 2hrs, museum 1 hr.

I'm not a museum fan, if you are you might need 3 hrs. I'd say at least a half day total.

When we collected our 718S Boxster in September the production line was closed to the public (new Panamera model being introduced to lines), so the tour was shorter.

Good to have been to the spiritual home of Porsche, but not as good as Leipzig (Macan collection - October 2014) IMO.

I took about 3 hours in the museum. Factory was on a two day shutdown when I was last in Stuttgart so haven't done that.

Just a word of caution. The museum oriented to racing and for Porsche nuts which may or may not be Mrs P's bag. Mrs E opted to go shopping instead, when I went. If you are in Stuttgart you really must see the Mercedes Benz museum which is of much more general interest and has a lot more on the social history of motoring. We both enjoyed that and I understand it's one of the top tourist attractions in Germany.

Oh, and you have to get a photo of your car on the forecourt of the Porsche museum. We went along early in the morning before they opened and got in a sneaky shot.

Agree completely. I was disappointed at only one production Boxster in the whole display. Mercedes Museum excellent but don't go when there is a football match at the nearby stadium as they suspend the trains whilst the match is on.

I thought it was fab and took a whole day - in fact we were one of the last out. Careful about timings... the Factory tours stop in the holidays due to their own shut downs.

+1 [:)] ...excellent

...(Porsche) museum oriented to racing and for Porsche nuts...

Er, hardly surprising really, given their history in this arena?

Agree with all the above - went in September - we would have liked to have done factory tour again . Mercedes museum great- they even had a 911 in the entrance hall !!
