Porsche Museum

Has anyone been to the Porsche Museum? I don't remember any "threads" on the subject.
My wife and I are thinking of going next year, and as we are both retired we have no time or date constraints.
Some sunshine would be good, so spring or early summer would be preferable.
What would be the best time of the year, any recommended hotels etc?
We were thinking of maybe a five day trip, getting the ferry over from Newcastle to Amsterdam and motoring in the aging 911.
Any advice please.

Do it, it's a fantastic place.

As is OPC Stuttgart and I'd try and get on the factory tour too.

did in this may/june in our 1958 356a [8D]

we got the overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam. stayed at the Holiday inn which was ok for a one night stop but, i wouldn't want to stay there any longer. but, at least it had a carpark.
i'd recommend phoning the museum before you go and booking a factory tour. (as we found out[:-]) it's not something you can do once your there.

the museum has an underground garage, and if you ask them really nicely then they may let you park in the entrance [:)]
