Porsche Pageant - Chatsworth 27th June

Where do I get details of this event John?

Living in Leeds and growing up 1 mile from Chatsworth I would be interested in going - This also means that I drive down to Chatsworth regularly and have learnt a fantastic B road blast from West Yorkshire.

If I can get a pass and if England don't finish runners up in Group C (second round match Sunday 27th 3pm if they don't win the Group) I would be happy to lead a convoy from the M1 - providing no one expects me to clean the mud and cow effluent off their pride and joy.

Jon

Hi Jon. This event is run by R8 so if you look on their site and follow links to Regional Director. Unless Randolph is looking at this thread and will help as I got my ticket from him (£7 in advance) John

Thanks John, I have emailed him and will have a look. I will keep an eye on this thread for any interest in a convoy.
Jon

Ok Jon. If you pay on the gate it's £10. As for the convoy, I'm sure we'll get some interest from the lads in Leeds/Wakefield/Huddersfield/Shefield areas. How about you Mark if you're out there, can meet you near A1 or York if you like? I'll be heading across M62 to M18 then either M1 north or south depending on the route. John

In case anyone else interested in this. It is run by R8 at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. I went last year with my wife and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Met fellow members as we were new to the Porsche Experience. Weather was good so we were able to have a pleasurable picnic.
Entry to the event costs £7 per car (or £10 at the gate) which includes specific Porsche parking area, raffle ticket and refreshments/soft drinks etc. Starts at 10am with Concours judging as 12 noon. 3pm raffle draw and concours prize presentation.
Tickets via Randolph Coward (996man) or Patrick Bower, R8 Regional Organiser (R8@porscheclubgb.com)

Chatsworth is the premier Country House in England with many visitor attractions (www.chatsworth.org) so why not come along and make it a family day out. The House & Gardens will be open at discounted rates for PCGB members so don't forget your membership cards.

Postal Code for those with "decent" Satnavs (not Porsche ones!!!) is DE45 1PP

See you all soon. John

We will be going although I hadn't worked out what time yet and more than happy to convoy down.

Is there anywhere to stop around the M18 juntcion?

I shall be going.
A good place to meet is the Stockyard Transport and Lorry Park at Hellaby. Cafe and toilets, just off junction 1, post code S66 8HN.
I usually go to M1 to junction 29 via Chesterfield. I find it much easier than negotiating Sheffield.

Yes, I know where you mean it's on the left of the M18. I often call at Morrisons on the opposite side of the junction with shopping list from Jane whenever I return from my meetings down south. There's also the Doncaster services on M18 just as it meets M180.

Hi Everyone -

Thanks for the interest in Chatsworth.

E mail me for any further details, queries or advance tickets.

Randolph

Sadly too early for us, we have children sleeping over on Saturday and won't be delivering them until 9.00am, so I guess we will see you there.

Looking at the timings, how about meeting at Woodhall Services (S26 7XR) on M1 Southbound Jn 30/31 at 10am then on to Chatsworth (DE45 1PP). That should get us there for around 11am. The more the merrier. John

Hi John

10.00am is a bit more reasonable, we'll meet up with you at Woodhall. I'll watch the forum in case it changes.

10.00am Sounds emently doable, we should be leaving York at 9.00 so should just about get there as long as Carol doesn't look at the speedo [8D]

We had a really good day out. It was our first visit to Chatsworth and well worth the trip. Paddling in the Cascade was a real joy especially in the really hot weather.
