Porsche & Polo - some pics

Hi All,

Just some pics from today. It was an enjoyable day. I couldnt stay all day but for the few hours I was there I saw plenty of nice cars (924 GTS on entry was lovely). This was my first club outing in my 964 as I only bought it 2 mths ago and have been away for much of that time. Enjoying the car immensely so far. I ended up convoying up most of the way from London with a 964 Speedster which was also a highlight.

Also managed to jag a trophy as best mid years 964 on the day. Not sure how but I will take it. [:)][;)]

I hope to get out with other 964's in the future to talk shop and discuss mods and enhancements etc. I can see plenty of money being spent here if I dont control myself.

Some pics of the new toy.

Hi Andrew

Like the car including black treatment. I have tried this on my red 964 with the headlamp rings only, but have now gone back to body colour.Let me know if you are interested in buying the headlamp rings I have not priced them up.

Hi Chris,

Agree on Guards Red!!

Not sure on the overall suspension set up other than they are lowered Eibach springs.

How is your car going on the 18's?

Keith - thnks for the offer but like it as is at the moment.

Hi Andrew,

Going good on 18's thanks, no catching still, even when throwing her round corners down country roads :)

My rear suspension is looking worn, so ive ordered some coilovers. Just a matter of setting up to ensure they still dont catch when shes loooow!

How's tricks with your 964?

Chris

Hi Chris,

So far the car has been great. I am really enjoying the 911 experience. I have almost done 1000 miles in it in about 2 mths [:)].

I have noticed that occasionally my tyres rub the guards if the road surface is bumpy etc so try to be careful. Realistically i do like the stance and how that looks but may need to do something to ensure the tyre rubbing is eliminated all together. So your 18's dont rub at all? your car looks low already. What rims are they by the way? are they 3 piece? They look good!

Which coilovers did u decide on in the end? There seems to be lots of choice and debate on which are the best suspension combinations.

Andrew

I'm pleased to hear we had a good turn out on the 964 front.

Unforeseen circumstances (non-car related) prevented my attendance on the day, which I was a bit miffed about, but there'll always be another time and place.

Sorry for the late reply Andrew :)

No rubbing at all. The wheels are indeed 3 piece - RH Turbo P

The rear shocks have worn, leaving the back end nice and low and the front end up on stilts! Pics as below:

Ive ordered an H&R height adjustable full coilover set to sort the problem!

Hi Andrew,

The wheels were UK sourced, bought them off a lad who was going to fit them to a VW Camper (!). They were worse for wear and I stripped them down, replaced damaged sections, hand polished the lips, painted the centres and built them back up (winter project!).

As for the suspension Germany seems to be the cheapest place so far. I priced the US and UK too. Got mine off German eBay for about £1150 delivered. Should be here next week :)

Chris

interested in the rubbing conversation - mine I feel are too low at the front and I have small gouges running around the 'edge' of the tyre - any thoughts and fixes withour replacing the suspension perhaps?
all the best

Slightly random question, but please could someone let me know who has the 964 Register flag?

I have been in contact with Kevin (kevinnunn) who collected it from Dave, but in my absence from Kirtlington he says he passed it to someone else in the 964 Register.

Anyone?
