Porsche recommended tyres

In February's Porsche Post there is an article on winter tyre tests (page 20). The article refers readers to porsche.com for the complete list for all models. Try as I might I cannot find anything on that web site relating to specific tyres for Porsche models. The basic site offers country selection which then (for the UK) opens in the porschegb.co.uk web site. Again on there I can find no such list of tyres. Clearly I am looking in the wrong place. Can anybody help please?

very interesting reading,

my Turbo S supplied by an OPC last September with warranty is sitting on N rated Bridgestones, these don't show in the approved list for the turbo but are for other 996 variants. I'd be interested in views from those in the know

Thanks

The TSB PCNA released for the 996 Turbo in May 2008 also show only 4 tyres:

Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico N3
Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N4
Continental ContiSportContact2 N2
Michelin PilotSport PS2 N3

Richard,

How do I stand then if they supplied the approved used car with OPC warranty to me on non approved tyres. I'll be making a call later today

I have no idea. The approval lists are only published in America as far as I know, so I expect they will just tell you that the tyres are N-rated, and that's that. I believe that plenty of people use Bridgestones on the Turbo, and I'm sure you won't have any problems.

ok thanks guys, they're all nearly new and perform well so just curious Interesting to see the performance ratings on the TSB are better for the Pirellis though as my preferred choice on previous cars has always been the Michelins.

just been into OPC today and in the showroom awaiting delivery a gorgeous new 997 Turbo in orange wearing the same boots as mine. If its good enough for that its good enough for me[;)]
