Porsche Roof Bars

I have a set of Porsche roof bars and a Mont Blanc Barracuda roof mount cycle carrier left over after selling my Cayman.

What are these worth in the used marketplace? It looks like the roof bar system is £300+ new and the Mont Blanc carrier is £70.

Hi Wallachie, I may be interested in the roof bars but not the cycle rack, would you be interested in separating?[:)]

Ideally I'd like to sell as a job lot, as I am guessing packing and posting them will be a total nightmare! I still need to figure out an asking price though! [:)]

I would be interested in the bike rack but not the bars! Where are you based, I'm in Bromley, Kent.

ORIGINAL: cayman I would be interested in the bike rack but not the bars! Where are you based, I'm in Bromley, Kent.
Are you the chap who emailed me? I'm based in Belfast, not sure what the postage costs would be for the rack itself. I'm looking £45 for it.

£150 for the roof bars? Offers? Failing that I'm going to put them on ebay tomorrow. £40 for the Mont Blanc carrier.

Sold to a fellow PCGB member! [:D] Thanks Kevin - a nice straight forward transaction, hope you are pleased with your purchase.

Sorry to dig this up again, but i've just got some porsche roof bars for my cayamn, and am after a singl ebike rike to fit to it. I would rather avoid the expense of the porsche supplied rack, can anybody advise others that will fit? It would appear that any thule or montblanc aero bar rack will fit, but is it more complicated than that? Thanks Jon PS i had quite a bit of trouble with the rack, it had several faulty threads on the mounting adapters, stripping the thread on a couple of the bolts in the process, after swapping a few parts back at the OPC it finally fits ok.

I've got the ski rack and bars for my Cayman and on looking into the manufacture it is apparent that all of the parts are made by Mont Blanc but Porsche have the only rights to the roof bar mounts. Since the ski rack is identical to the Mont Blanc items then it follows that their bike rack is also .... You should be able to find one on Ebay.[;)]

I have Mont Blanc bike racks and can confirm from examining the ones sold in the OPC that they are identical (to be fair to Porsche the prices, new, are pretty similar too).

Jon, if you are still searching I have a couple of Automaxi roof-mounted bike carriers for sale at only £10 each which fit any roof bars. The carrier is easily adjusted to fit almost any spacing of roof bars and any size of cycle. Cycles are carried complete, ie without removing wheels or making any other compromises. All fittings are included, including clamps to hold the carriers onto roof bars and wheel straps. Now seem to be sold as Mont Blanc Automaxi. In good condition. Would sell one if that's all you need. I am moving house shortly so they are packed up but could easily bring one with me to Centre Gravity if you are on that jaunt?

oops, maybe i should have subscribed to this thread! i've just ordered and received an new mont blanc carrier form ebay. (£40). it fits fine using the aero bar bolts you slide into the roof bars. The whole thing has been a bit of a faff, but i'm there now. no excuse not go riding. well, except the weather! Jon
