Porsche service in essex

I used to use autostrasse in coggelshal us I understand that they have closed down

can anyone recommend an alternative?

thanks

They haven't closed down. The word was that the owner was considering selling but had a change of heart. Whatever the story, they are still going strong and a friend recommends them highly.
They have stepped into the 21st century as well - they have a web-site!

Carrera Engineering in Nazeing Essex call Tony on 01992892333 has a web site so you can look at what he does. Recommended.

Here is the quote from the OPC, does this sound reasonable?

Dear Mr

Thank you for your enquiry, my name is Steve Knight and I am the Service Supervisor here at Porsche Centre Colchester.

I have looked into your request and can now provide you with the following information:-

The 12000 mile service on your vehicle would take around 4 hours to complete. As part of the service we carry out a full, free of charge, vehicle health check to advise you on any current or future maintenance needs, we will also carry out a complimentary wash and vacuum of your vehicle. The price for the service is £922.23. This includes parts, labour and VAT.

We also offer the options of a collection delivery within a 50 mile radius or a loan vehicle to keep you mobile while your vehicle is with us, all free of charge. We are currently booking as soon as Friday 29th April, however if you require a collection or loan vehicle the lead time may be slightly longer

If you would like us to order the parts and book your vehicle into our workshop please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards
Steven Knight

For an older Porsche I would stick with an Indy.
As said the guys at HP Motorsport Joe & Phil are great guys very knowledgeable.
Cliff.

Sounds expensive. My last 12000 mile service at my local OPC (no names, but I live near Bournemouth...) cost £880 and included all the extra's you've been quoted plus a brake fluid change, sticking caliper removal and clean-up, plus an MOT. Does yours include valve clearances?

update 9.5.2016

1. I sent this to the OPC in reply to its reply to me as above on 28.4.2016

Thanks

Can you tell me what is included in the service?

Sent from my iPad

to date I have received no reply so as others have concluded, I do not think that they are interested in servicing old Porsches, more worryingly they maybe do not have staff capable of servicing them?

2. I rang autostrasse this morning and asked to speak to Ken or Alan and was told that they both retired last year and have nothing to do with the business. A search at companies house too shows that neither Ken or Alan are directors, secretaries or shareholders of the company that now operates autostrasse.

3 so my search continues!

Update

Well this week I took the car to Porsche Colchester and Gary's people carried out the full service plus replacing the transmission oil, replacing the gasket and adjusting the wheel bearings and for the price quoted plus the extras. They provided a courtesy car as the service was spread over two days, as the engine needs to be cold before they can adjust the tappets. Despite the changeable weather I managed to keep the car dry, I don't think it has been out in the rain for over 10 years now! Before carrying out the service, they carried out a complimentary health check and the technician who carried out the work, who I was told had over 40 years experience working on Porsche made a video highlighting the areas of concern. They also washed and valeted the car before I collected it. Plus I got a main dealer stamp in the service history.
