Porsche Service in Kent

MRG944

So, the 944 (1989 2.7 Manual) has arrived on my driveway and now to get it into a better condition. Belts are in need of a change as whilst they have only covered circa 13,000 miles they are 9+ years old.

I have looked at details for a number of garages, The nearest to me is Brooklands in Swanley, does anyone have any knowledge of them?

Otherwise:

La Rose - Kemsing

911 Box - Keston

ReDesign Racing & Engineering - Enysford

Project Nine - Marden

Can anyone recommend any of these?

I've heard a few good things about Brooklands, but I understand he was a bit wishy-washy when the club wanted to visit. One friend in the club did use Brooklands but now uses Parr (not sure of exact reason)

Personally, I use Project Nine. The owner, Cliff, is the ex-service manager of La Rose (if my memory serves me right).

911 Box and La Rose are names heard in the club - not heard of ReDesign Racing.

Hi, I too use Project Nine at Marden. Cliff is a great bloke, knows the cars backwards and always willing to give advice and have a chat. Give him a try.

+1 for Project Nine and Cliff Lowe. When he had my coupe for major service and belts last year he emailed photos of things he'd found then phoned to discuss before going ahead with additional work. Good guy who knows his Porsches, especially the older models. As said above, he was 12 years with La Rose before opening up on his own a couple of years ago, and occasionally comes to R25 monthly meets.

His place is a little bit out in the wilds, but put the postcode in your satnav and it should take you right to his door. Only about a mile from Marden station. Interesting 968 racing mob next door as well!

Thanks everyone.

Whilst not the easiest to get to for myself in NW/Kent SE London I have gone with Project Nine.

All belts to be changed as they are in fact 12 years old! Cliff tells me ideally they should have been replaced three times in that period!!!

First of all welcome to the 944 Club.
I can strongly recommend "Brookland", Barry and Chris have always got time for you..
They look after both my car's and won't rip you off.

I strongly resemble that remark!!!!! Wishy Washy they are not. It took forever and several calls emails to get some response, Barry Kilgar of Brooklands offered a free diagnostic check to all ... as well as a full B B Q Open day .... but got very flakey ....

Barry has just serviced my 964RS .... going like a ballistic rocket ... 30 years of Ferrari and Porker experience .... will give a decent discount to Club Members .... wonder why you set things up with an Indy for the benefit of masses and it all turns wishy washy ... NOT Barry's call ..... why do you bother[]
