Another newbie question (sorry), can anyone recommend a good Porsche servicer, I guess all OPC will be good (and pricey) but does anyone take theirs to an independant workshop and if so are their any near Peteborough, thanks!, Lee

Hi Lee,

There is:

http://www.twgsport.co.uk/

Who are in Peterborough or

http://www.911sport.co.uk/

In Horncastle.

I've never used either of them for a service so I can't really comment. 911 Sport have been recommended to me though, but its a long way! Very nice roads though!!!! If you do use either of them I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Best wishes and good luck.

Nick

Thanks Nick, their websites look pretty good, 911 sport of lincs isn't too far for me either (I live in Bourne). Is the re-sale value of the car affected if the car has non OPC service stamps in it's service booklet?,

I'll let you know when I've had a look around their premises, Lee

Lee,

It's PCGB Region 24 club night down at Holywell Front nr. St Ives this Wednesday the 8th if you fancy popping along.

I'm in Glinton so not far from you. I'll be setting off about 7:45

PM me if you'd like some more detail.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Lee,

I think as long as the service is done by a reputable company it shouldn't be an issue. The older cars become the less important it becomes that its done by an OPC. Some people will I'm sure only want a car that has been serviced by such, but the extra costs involved as the cars get older seems extorsionate. Once a car is 5 years or older (as long as the book is stamped by a reputable firm) it becomes (to my mind) more a question of condition. Even cars that have always spent there days at OPC's for service have failures!

So (in my opinion) to hold its value, keep it shiney bright and loved. You can always tell when someone has looked after and cherished a car!

Happy driving.

Nick
