Porsche Specialist - Halifax/Huddersfield

Splitrich

New member
I have just had my 993 targa in for a winter check up and detail at a new specialist in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.

I can thoroughly recommend the service and the prices. It was great to meet a mechanic (Scott) with real enthusiasm for the older porsche and whilst he wear telling me of his OPC training and qualifications, he also stressed he was trained for the newer models also.

Have a look at their website www.revolutionsupercars.co.uk

I would totally recommend them. Not only did they do the winter check, they did me a great price on a new battery and also replace the timing gaskets and seals (a common problem on 993's the age of mine). really pleased with the price (less than half of JCT600) and the overall service

Give them a try, will be taking mine for its service there in March when its due

Cheers

Rich

This is still an advert. They could just try advertising like everyone else. The previous thread was removed because they broke the advertising rules.

As was suggested to them they could try holding an event or open day rather than abusing the forum.

Why is this an advertisment Mark? Simply looks like a fellow member telling us of a garage that knows its stuff and charges reasonable prices. Abuse of the forum???

Unless you know something different of course???

Hi,

I'd be intersted in why this is an issue?

When you say 'they' broke the rules, I can assure you that 'we' didn't? I saw that Tony had originally posted about Revolution Porsche before you removed it - although he is based here and we do advertise his services he's not Revolution Porsche. However, I do wish to thank him for 'spreading the word' and I guess I can understand why it ruffled your feathers when you saw him on the site.

I cannot see how this thread is a problem though.. please explain to me so I can understand.

Many Thanks

Russ

Guys, Tony put up a thread that looked and sounded like advertising, on visiting your website his smiley face is on the nice picture on the front page and he offers services from your garage. This therefore looks like an advert and in my mind and those of the moderators this was an advert and hence it was removed.

The forum rules state that advertising isn't allowed. No one else is allowed to advertise and so it isn't fair/right that adverts are left in place.

This thread started by Richard Clark contained a post that was basically a direct copy from the original thread and to my mind this didn't look like an unsolicited testimonial but an attempt to restore the previously removed thread. As such it looks like advertising. If the thread hadn't come across in the way that it did then there would be no problem, after all one of the points of having the forum is that members can spread the word about good service etc.

To my mind there is a thin line here, effectively running an event like an open day is advertising and yet we are happy to promote such events and encourage members to attend. As a club I feel we have a good relationship with the specialists in our region and encourage a good interaction between us. Russ I have no problem with you guys and am quite happy to promote involvement with you as with the other specialists in the area, to my mind it is to the benefit of all to do so. The thread that was removed isn't the first and I am quite sure that it won't be the last to be removed for this reason.

Having just seen the Leeds Supercar meet you guys suddenly seem to be flavour of the month [:)]

I must thank Richard for posting feedback about his experience at Revolution, it's very kind of him.

I do understand why you may have felt that Tony's post may have edged on crossing the line as his 'grumpy' face is on our site but I feel no need for us to come on to this forum and push for recognition and this was never encouraged. However, it can do us no harm and if you guys are happy to work with us I'm more than happy for members on here to come down and we will look after them.

We want to do an open day and invite all to view our new premises, unfortunately this is something I think will have to wait until the spring comes and the better weather arrives. I'm sure that together with Leeds Supercar Meet, the new customers and the old customer base we have brought along from the last place it will be a good day out.

I appreciate there are procedures and sponsors to take into consideration so I must re-itterate that I am not here to use this platform as a way to generate business. I've been a member on here a while now and whilst the other place was in business, I didn't use it then and I won't use it now.

I hope to work with you guys in the future.

Russ

Just checked my post and was surprised to see all the comments as I thought making recommendations to fellow members was one of the purposes of the forum.

Just for the record, I am not affiliated in anyway with revolution, thoroughly recommend their service however. I wanted to state this as the immediate reply to my post was that I was advertising and infers that I am part of Revolution.

Rather than extend this post further would just suggest that anyone in Halifax/Bradford/Huddersfield area gives them a try, I am very pleased with both the service and price and I know others are.

Thanks

Rich
