Porsche Warranty - cheaper than before - FYI

Porsche have just changed their underwriters for the Approved Warranty and it's got cheaper ...

Last week when I booked in for my warranty extension, the price quoted for was £2295 for a two year extension.
Today I actually took the car in for the 111 point check: The nice lady at Guildford Porsche said that they have just (i.e. within th last week) changed the underwriting company for the warranty and the costs have come down - thus a two year would now cost me "only" £1685.

And.. if you remove the Porsche Roadside Assistance (which is tey try to "[8|]automatically" included in the warranty but can be removed if you push gently) then that saves another £275 over 2 years... basically makes a Porsche approved warranty cost £705 per year.

Clearly there is a bigger discount for the two year deal over one year, but the one year prices had come down also (sorry -can't remember what they were - but I think it was around £950)

I'm also not sure whether these price changes apply to all models or just the 987, but just a heads up for those that are interested.

Guys on BoXa.net are finding this too. At the same time, Tesco have (at least temporarily) dropped car warranties altogether; one salesperson said there wasn't enough takeup, except from Land Rover and Boxster owners!

There are also suggestions that OPC are dropping their servicing prices - I believe the menu pricing has been (again temporarily) removed from the website.

I wonder if all the stupid and unreasonable caveats preventing cover have been revised?

Probably extra ones (the new t&c's haven't been posted yet) .... Interestingly from what I understand the warranty underwriting company has changed.
