Porschec Parts Gone Up

I'm not sure if any of you have bought parts this year yet, but I've just had a bit of a shock. After quoting a customer for doing disks and pads on their 964 RS I had a shock when I came to buy the parts. It seems the Porsche price change has reduced the cost of parts on the 996's and newer stuff and increased the price for the older stuff.

For example the front disks for the 964 RS have had a 75% price increase. I was lucky and managed to buy a couple of sets at last years prices because they were in stock. Otherwise I was faced with losing money on doing the guys disks and pads. Wish they'd told me proactively.

Anyway if you're going to need brakes this year it may be worth trying a similar thing with your local dealer. I bought my sets for less than the dealer can now buy them in at so be quick.

New brakes all around just before Christmas but pants that the price hike has hit older cars. I thoought they were trying to keep owners of older cars on board rather than alienating them - it will just push people away from the dealer network.

Regards
