I know you will all laugh out loud when you see what I have bought to replace my 996 Targa but just consider the following.

I no longer have to keep looking out for speed cameras and watching my rear view mirror constantly worrying that they lock you up for the speeds the 911 so willingly can achieve and the ride on the whole is somewhat lacking along with the luggage space, I could go on but you get the picture.

Now your turn to laugh at my new weekend car, it is quiet / comfortable / great cruiser / has lots of luggage space and although it could do 140mph I would not want to be in it at that speed.

Oh dear. Michael, what have you done???? [] []

I know a good shrink in your area - better get an appointment as soon as you can. [:D] [:D]

They certainly are a Gentleman's Cruiser. I know a couple of people who had them. They both had very good chiropractors too!

what are the chances of group discount? I quite fancy one as well. Although it will interesting tohesr what the running costs are like.

Enjoy.

Mark

Thank you all for being gentle with me!

On the running costs, cheap as chips this is the 4L straight six up to 32mpg fully loaded with toys of the period and almost certain to be zero depreciation which will be nice after recent losses on other cars and no points on my license[;)][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

hiya micheal, she looks stunning and i last owned one[coupe] in 1982 xreg? they are wonderful to drive and dont seem to wind people up, enjoy her and i truly believe that in the future the xjs will be held in the same reverance as e-types, good luck... jason p

Thanks Jason

I too think the XJS is on the way up, certainly the prices for good late cars are improving so fingers crossed.

10 years from now I will get my space at the post office and in the meantime I get to travel in comfort and keep my license [:D]

I cant see why anyone would go for an XJS over a 911, ok fair play to own one as well, if you have the need.

I would rather losse my licence than drive an XJS.

Good luck you may need it Phil

Hi Phil

Loosing your license would exclude your 911 and and XJS!

I think you have perhaps not driven a late model 4L XJS you maybe surprised if you did.

Admittedly the XJS won't corner like a 911 but then they were not supposed too, however they do allow you an awful lot of comfort on a long journey and as cheap as chips to run and own, I paid just 17k for this one I lost more than that on a 997 I had a couple of years ago.

But each to there own and if I see you walking I will give you a lift in my XJS[:D]

Hello Michael

All meant as a bit of a joke. My fathers friend had a blue one which was really nice example which i really liked i think that you will have a lot of fun with this car, however i am a bit obsessed with 911s of all eara so find it hard to understand how one can go away from the brand unless they really have to.

I will take you up on the drive if are paths cross one day.

Phil

a change is as good a rest as they say[:D]

have a bit of low cost fun then hurry back to the fold!!
