Hi all R7ers.

Tommo, Chris and Lisa and I have arranged to go to the above event. This is a free event. We have arranged to meet at Hartshead Moor services @ 07:45. Leaving @ 08:00.
Dave & Kathryn are meeting us there for the gathering on the prom at 11:00. Anyone free to tag along just say the word. The timing should leave us time to find a coffee + bacon butty on the way over. I'll try research a suitable break point and let you guys know.

Hi Michael.
All being well, Dan and I will meet you at Hartshead (if we can get up this early (again))
Far too early for Jane (unless there's a sale on at Debenhams!)

John

Hi all R7ers
Just had a conversation with the owner of the Groes Inn at Conwy. This hotel is on the edge of the world famous 'Evo triangle'. It is where the Evo magazine team base themselves for their ECOTY car of the year and many other roadtests. I have arranged with him a bacon butty and cappucino stop on the way to Llandudno. The price is ÂŁ9 per head. This is a discount of ÂŁ2 off the normal price. We should arrive at the hotel around 10ish. It is only about 5 miles from Llandudno so we should be able to make it to the prom in good time. While there there is an opportunity to take a photo of your car outside the hotel. They are currently running a competition within Evo magazine where the best photo wins a stay in the hotels' luxury High Cabin. Well worth a shot.

If any members from other regions would like to meet here please add your name to the post. I will confirm numbers with the hotel on Friday.

Thanks - Mike.

It had better be one heck of a bacon buttie and coffee for ÂŁ9.00. We got a breakfast a Garstang for that [:)]

See you Sunday, don't think I'll have owt to eat Saturday in anticipation [:D]

Need to be aware of this

Scheduled closures

The next gantry will be installed overnight on Saturday 21st April 2012
To install these safely we need to close the M62 junctions 27 and 28 from 8pm on the Saturday to 9am Sunday morning
Traffic will be diverted via the A650 - see the "Will there be diversions?" section below
These works are weather dependant and may have to be cancelled at short notice

Work and weather permitting we'll be at Llandudno but not sure what time

Thanks for the heads up David. Will bear this in mind.

Also, Chris, Fried egg sarnies available as an alternative.

Would these be quail eggs ??
I'll have caviar on my bacon and Dan wants gold plated sausages !!
Hope weather changes as Jane may join us

John

No John. I do believe that they were laid by the golden goose. A Welsh delicacy I'm told.

Mike

Hi Guys.

Chris contacted me earlier with news of a possible cry-off for him & Tommo. This is purely down to weather. Fair weather Porsche drives only. Anyhow, I am supposed to ring the Groess Inn tomorrow (Friday) with final numbers for brekkie. Lisa and I are going no matter what. If there are any other takers please let me know at your earliest convenience. Here's hoping the weather improves because I really think this will be a good day out.

If anybody from any other region wishes to join us for breakfast, you are welcome - just let me know tomorrow through this post.

Ta - Mike

I think the term Crying Off is a bit harsh, all we said was that if its pouring down on Sunday it seemed a little pointless driving 250mls to walk around a wet Llandudno.

Anyhow just had a look at the weather for Sunday and it appears to be sunny with showers

so hope to see you at Hartshead Services for 8.00

Steve

Unfortunately we are now crying off as the weather forecast looks like rain rain rain for the next week.
It's bad enough walking round Morecambe getting wet without driving all the way to wales to do te same

Sorry Mike. Have a good day (need some sunshine!!)

John

Hi Mike not offended, just had a conversation with Chris and discussed what we were doing in the event of it being a bad forecast for Sunday.

Have to agree with John the weather makes the day

Definately not going now as there is now a misfire. So looks like spark plug coils need replacing (as mentioned at last week's clinic). Engine check light also on so daren't drive any distance until johb done. Hope it's an easy job!!
John

Sorry to hear about that John. Hope the repairs go smoothly. Catch you at another event soon.

Mike

Good news. Called at Porschetech in Leeds this morning and took them 15 mins. Fantastic service. All up and running again. One of the coil packs had burnt out. Others need doing soon as cracked but might have a go myself sometime. Got tickets for Donnington on my return so will see you all at meeting place. Looks like you'll need brolleys for tomorrow.
John

Hope you don't get too wet chaps, at least the roads should be quiet for a good blast. The great weather we had for Whitby seems like a long and distant memory now.

If you get the chance take some photos and let me have a paragraph for the Porsche Post, if I could have them for Friday that would be great.

Enjoy [:D]

Well glad we didn't listen to the weather forecasters. Great day out some 90 cars on the Prom. Have to congratulate Lisa for some quality navigation didn't realize we were doing a touch of rallying on single track roads with grass growing up the centre.

Breakfast and the surroundings were stunning

See you all tuesday for the Boxster launch

Lorraine & Steve

Yes Steve.

We really did strike it lucky. Llandudno is a lovely place to hold an event. A proper suprise how nice the town is. Lovely Victorian architecture. We came back partly via the same route we came in on. Stunning scenery, got to take in more of it on our return journey than on our way out. Great area for a future WOTY me thinks.

Regarding navigation. Lisa couldn't navigate herself out of goldfish bowl. Her driving prowess however does compensate somewhat though.

Great to see Rob, Dave and Kathryn. Also, really enjoyed catching up with Mike and Pat Baynes from North Wales Region.

Thanks to R6 for putting on a great event. We counted 90 Porsches on the prom, fantastic turn-out.

Piccies to follow.

Mike & Lisa
