Portmeirion / mcl trip sunday.

Sadly I;ve already made plans for this weekend.... was really looking forward to taking the car for a decent run but seems I will have to wait a little longer.... Have a great time everyone who's going! Fingers crossed for the weather!

Cheers[:(]

Hu

has ian foster got your e-mail address as he sends out a calender a few times a year, also it was referred to in last months porsche post

Details of the Portmeirion Trip were emailed out to the R14 email list in March with a reminder last week.

If you are not getting the region emails, then send an email to me at r14@porscheclubgb.com asking to be added to the list.

Might be worth posting a list of all 2010 events on the forum? It can always be updated and added to when required....

Had a reply today, via P.M., (why not via the forum?) Stating that they thought I was an International member!!!
I know Wales is quite a long way from England, but come on!
Seems pretty typical of my experiences so far with Porsche Club G.B.

Hu, you do seem to of had a strange introduction into the club experience.. I remember when you joined..

I worry that these 'private' email lists of events being sent out rather than posted here and in the magazine is a bit 'non club'
From my understanding I'm entitled to attend these events as a club member (not that I have) but if they are being sent out as private emails, then I'm not going to find out about them??? [&:] - just a thought thats all.....
Admittedly I also send out a google email to my register members that people can sign up for, however a event diary is also visible to all members in our section of the forum.

Just to clarify our events and email:

All planned events are published in Porsche Post as every paid up member receives a copy.
Our full calendar of events has been published on the main club website, unfortunately this keeps being deleted (IT are aware of the problem).
All new members of the region are invited to join our email list and any other member from other regions can join, all we ask is they confirm membership of the club. We have around 75% of our regional members on this list and a large number of members from outside the region. If they do not have or use email then I print out post out a copy. This is an additional service and PP still remains the main contact medium due to its 100% penetration.
Our email list was started in 2000, nearly 10 years ago well before the website or forum. Many members rely on it and a last minute email will often generate a much need boost to event numbers.
The region sent out a full questionaire to members last year with a section about the forum and email. Very few of our members regularly use the forum but the majority found the email dropping into their inbox useful.

Hu you have been added to the list now. Sorry you got missed off purely an oversite and I'm a good bit further West than you at the moment! Once brought to my attention we acted on it straight away, regarding the PM it seemed more appropriate that way to reply to you.

Gary and Hu and anyone else you are all welcome at our events - we are friendly bunch...
If you are not receiving emails and think you should be please let me know at r14@porscheclubgb.com
