Position of Carrera S Badge

Steve Humphreys

New member
I have just competed painting a second engine cover with a Carrera S spoiler and have now purchased the Carrera and S badges--can someone please let me know the position of these on the engine cover--distance from the edge of the engine cover and relative position of the 2 badges.

Many thanks

Steve

Hi Steve, sorry for the delay replying.

My badge has never been removed, so here goes.

The first letter 'C' starts 32 cm in from the left. The highest point is 8.8cm from the top and the lowest point is 8.5cm from the bottom. The bottom of the last letter 'a' is 8.8cm from the bottom. The stand alone 'S' is 8.8cm from its highest point to the top, is 7.2cm from its lowest point to the bottom and the end of the letter is 32cm from the right.

Hope that is sufficient!

Cheers

Harvey

Hi Harvey/Maurice

I had a first pass on the patio table--now that the rain has stooped for 10 mins!.

One issue when I taped everything up--as per the photo--I found when I placed the S badge on the engine cover that there was only 27.5 cm from the right of the S badge to the right side of the engine cover.

I measured the length of the Carrera badge that I purchased from Strasse and it is 26cm in length---is this the same length as yours.

Thanks again for your help--engine cover now moved to daughters bed as it is raining again.

Hi Steve,

NO, my Carrera badge is 21.5cm long and the S is 10 cm long. Attached is a photo showing their relative positions.

All the best, Harvey

Many thanks for that--when I taped everything up and took the measurements it seemed wrong compared to yours--I will ask Strasse about it in the morning.

Nothing is ever simple!--though I have just about sorted out the heating in the 964 and its only taken me 2 years!

Best wishes

Steve

Hi Harvey/Maurice

Many thanks for your help--opne last question--photo of engine cover in next post.

I have attached a photo of the wiring--which is messy--I must be missing some clips--any chance of a photo of the wiring layout---I must be missing some clips.

Thanks for your help.

Best wishes.

Steve

Hi

Strasse came to the rescue and replaced the first Carrera badge--which was a 996 badge with a 993 badge.

Not totally happy with the position of the badge--but measurements tell me it is all ok--though I feel the S might be rotated too much clockwise----with time I am now slightly less critical than I was when I first put them on this is not as easy as it looks as the process tends to take a mind of its own once you touch the car with the adhesive backing.

Thanks for your help.

Steve
