Possible damaged window mechanism

Hi guys, tonight when i got in my car i noticed the window didnt pop down when i pulled the handle so i had to jiggle it a bit to get in. I thought it might just be due to it being cold this morning when i parked it (around 0 deg or so), but as i was driving home i tried the passenger side which worked ok. I tried the drivers side again and it just makes a kind of whiring noise then when i got on my drive and got out it didnt pop up or down. Have I damaged the mechanism or is it somthing simple?

^^^ Wot he said. See my last running report [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=598771]here[/link] for details of how I saved £££ by getting my local indi (Autostrasse) to fix mt broken window regulator, rather than the £502.52 my OPC wanted !

This happened to me when I left the passenger window open for a couple of weeks with the car unused. When putting the window up fully, and shutting the door it would make a wining noise like it was trying to still shut the window. I'm not sure of the documented procedure to reset the drop facility, but on my wifes mini which had a similar issue I had to put the window all the way down then hold the button up for several seconds after it was fully closed to reset. I tried the same thing on the Porsche thinking it may have a similar system and it worked lol.

So i should try to move the window down then press the up button and hold it?
