Hi all. I have a 89' S2 which is pretty much as left the factory apart from a certain Promax Motorsport addition ( not a chip if any insurance guys reading this. Looking to invest in a new exhaust system as have been told this would be the only other sensible upgrade to make on this model. Have any of you done this and if so what makes should I be considering and what sort of dollar would I be looking at.
I have the complete Essential Styling system (non cat) and would recommend it, it's well built from stainless, seems lighter than standard, almost factory quiet at part throttle openings (IIRC) and much more vocal on full throttle. I do believe it really does free up more power too, but don't have figures on my car to prove it. However at Silverstone it dyno'd at 215bhp with only a ProMax chip and cone filter. This was with 160K miles on the engine, and given that few S2's now seem make original power I think this is a pretty good sign that the mods are helping. http://www.essentialstyling.com/944_s2_system.htm
Best regards,
Peter
