Powderham Castle Historic Vehicle Gathering - 11th and 12th of July 2009

The weekend is fast approaching for the largest Classic Car Show in Devon. I am delighted to confirm that as usual, despite the National Rally at Blenheim Palace on the same weekend, R15 will have a stand on both the Saturday and Sunday.

This truly is the biggest and best classic car show in Devon, set in the wonderful grounds of Powderham Castle. With over 100 car club stands and approximately 1,000 cars plus commercials, steam and motorbikes, this is the one !! In addition there are games and rides for the kids and various market and auto-jumble stalls.

Region 15 of PCGB will have their usual stand at this event, and we need 15 - 20 cars for each day. The cost is just £7.50 for the day for your car, and up to 2 adults. This is a cheap day out and one to be remembered.

I currently have about 6 - 8 cars for each day, so really need another 5 - 10 cars for each day. Some of us have volunteered for both days !! In addition, a couple of helpers on the Friday evening to set up the stand would be much appreciated. There is a beer tent !!!!!!!

Chris and Pat Tasker have kindly agreed to assist with the convoy into the show, but it would be great to see your car on the stand. A good selection of front and rear engined cars would make the stand that much more interesting. Come on, even if the Concours wasn't for you, this is a must for all the family.

If you are interested and would like more information, please give me a call on 07831 273148.

Remember, your club needs you !!!!!!!!!

Hi Tony,

As I said at the concours I would like to bring the GT3rs to this event, but I am not sure which day I can make.

Can you send me a booking form please.

Many thanks

Paul

Hi Tony I will willingly do both days for R15 but can the car be left there over night on the stand or will I have to bring it home buddy?

It is possible to leave the car overnight, I believe there is security etc on site overnight.

Have you completed an application form? If not, please do so (they are on the web site or I can email one to you) and get this back to Simon with a cheque.

Many thanks. Look forward to seeing you on the day.

Well, just 4 days to go, and we have a good selection of cars entered, however, we could still do with another couple of cars on both Saturday and Sunday. Anyone offering ??

If you do want to come along, to what will be a fabulous day for any petrol head, please contact me ASAP and I will arrange your entrance.

I can be contacted on 07831 273148

Andy

Thanks, look forward to seeing you over the weekend. I have the passes so if you convoy in with the others, leaving Granada Services at 9.15am, then I will meet you on the gate before 10.00am on either the Saturday or Sunday to sort out your access to the site. Give me a call on the mobile if you need assistance on the day. (07831 273148)

How was it today? I was going to come today, but cancelled due to the rain so will bring the GT3 tomorrow.

Paul

Fairly quiet, I'd say. Only 4 cars on stand today - many cancelled this am due weather forecast etc. Should be a better turn out tomorrow. Lots of other interesting stuff to see!
