Poweflex wishbones

Tighten up that sloppy front end of your 964! The rubber bushes must be at least 11 years old!

I have a refurbished set with Powerflex bushes all ready fitted. I bought them for my 964 RS but my mechanic tells me it is not just the bushes that are different on the RS, the wishbone is too, hence the sale.

Cost 160 plus old units(I paid 50 pounds deposit). If anyone can use these or knows a man that can please let me know? They are easy to fit, see June 911 and Porsche World. Ideal winter project(2 hours worth;O)

I need to get my own RS ones refurbished with the same Poweflex bushes so need the cash!

Mel,

Looked at Phil RS PSI convertion to Uniball at the weekend. Solid Aluminium (I think, metal anyway) bushes. Imported from the USA. Rubber driven out and replaced on wishbones and antiroll bars. A couple of thousand Euros I believe! It works a dream at Spa and Knockhill as I have been in the car. It does get a bit difficult under braking I believe. Maybe lack of give in the bushes makes it this way?

I believe these were used on the genuine Cup cars.

Maybe yours is a fake? ;O)

Are we on the right forum? Would Colin Belton tell me if my mechanic is correct with the wishbones or not? How do I contact him? The technical spec for the RS just refers to harder bushes. Maybe there is more adjustment to the wishbone at the wheel side.

From Neil Bainbridge:

Hi We sell the Poly bush kits for the front wishbones to date I have had no problems with these and have moved on over 25 sets in the past 12 months I have to say I don't know if they have been run on race cars as yet but all the feed back has been good regarding positive feel to steering and response to road surface. Kit is £98.80 + Shipping +vat

Regards Neil

I think at 2000 euros, Phil can keep them!!

Different ball park. PSI know what they are doing. My car is a dream to drive on the circuit. Phil's on the other hand is a no compromise race machine. Ear plugs and all!

The article in 911 and Porsche world says they kept the Powerflex bushes soft for road use. Not the same as solid metal bushes.

Phil might be selling his car so you could upgrade perhaps? Save changing your bushes! ;O)
