Power S Kit & Warranty

Great to put some forum names to faces at Autofarm on Saturday and look forward to seeing some of you at YouDrive in the NY.

Two questions from me

  1. How much should I be looking to pay to renew my warranty on my 997 C2S 2006 in April next year? (Appreciate VAT will be back to 17.5%)
  2. OPC Bristol are offering me the Power S kit for my car fully fitted and VAT inclusive for £8409.10. Is this a good deal? (I currently have Sport Chrono and STD Exhaust).
Thanks in anticipation

Jamie

Jamie,

Item 2) Power kit (x51) - if this is the Gen 1 997 Powe Kit option referred to as x51, then it is good value. Its basically what it cost to add as an option on a new car. Normally its more on a second hand car. It might seem a lot but they replace a fair chunk of the engine, including header, pistons, beefing up the clutch and fitting the sports exhaust.

It goes particularly well with the sports chrono option.

it will take time to run in as it is effectively half a new engine. Its estimated to take 6k miles after fitting to develop full power. With the sports exhaust and carbon intake it makes a great noise. The main difference is the torque - Acceleration feels liner from about 3k revs all the way to 7k. Also the rev limit is raised to 7450 revs from just under 7200.

Once you have the power kit run in and played for a while its then time for a Revo engine remap and your journey to the dark side will be complete........

Flanagan, if you're thinking of spending that sort of money for 25 bhp or so, then before you make your mind up have a chat with Porsche experts Tech 9. In my opinion they have unrivaled pedigree in this department, Phil Hindley's your man and he'll recommend reliable upgrades to suit your pocket and they can also offer the all inclusive Techart warranty product.
