To quote some info on this kit.................
This kit makes your 964 RS steering quicker and lighter and thereby correcting maybe the biggest shortcoming on the 964 RS the slow steering and would bring up the car to 993 RS standard without any power loss. It makes the car perfect for slalom and autocross type events. It also helps on the track in critical situations where faster steering is essential.

Probably why so many teams fitted them, where their class rules allow. Clearly sorts out a major flaw that only RHD cars don't have[:D]

Personally would rather bite my arms off, the whole charm of a left hooker on track is the continous gentle fight with the car, actually feeling and touching the circuit....However as an edurance racer I can understand the driver would be totally Sh*GG3D having to keep up that arm wrestling for any period. As the vast majority only go out for twenty minute sessions I can and want to live with the total involvement.......why spoil the whole feel of the car.....

Simon,
I think he is considering it.........all this endurance talk.....must be telling on 'em after 20 minutes.[8|] Maybe the RHD lap times hold up better after 20 minutes..[:D]

I will confess, there is something appealing about the look of a "handlebars on the left" 911. I just cant get on with the gears or the handbrake on the right.

I don't think it is such bad idea......having recently driven both 964 & 993 RS CS back to back around the same track, the 93 was clearly lighter on steering and dare I say it more precise.
There is admittedly a certain charm to fighting the 64, but if you are going through sweeping turns flat in 4th, you really do need to concentrate on the steering aspct of the car.
Both different characteristics of the cars, the 64 can be tough to fight at higher speeds, but if you are only ever going round the track slowly through the turns, then steering weight shouldn't be a problem [;)]

I remember your first comment..."How could a Cup Car driver endure this"......

Clubsport in the hot seat....is there some lift going on?

As you say Des, 20 mins stints make it interesting........As we recall, some racers fitted pas (leccy?) pumps on 64, it is no suprise that the evolution to 93 incuded fitment of pas, then that does run with more rubber.

Des, don't think that is the small lift piccy [;)]

Now, that would be the ultimate 964RS. A LHD with power steering! Just like most of the guys who used go race them prefered their cars[:D]
