Power Steering Fluid Cooler

Im planning to convert my car to power steering and the one thing I'm short of is a fluid cooler. They don't seem to be that common so I was thinking of using an old oil cooler I have lying about. Any other suggestions on good alternatives appreciated. If anyone has one lying about in decent condition I would be interested.

The standard one is just a few loops of tube with no vanes, an oil cooler would probably be overkill.

Unfortunately the tube that the cooler is part of is the one that tends to leak with age so a working S/H one might not be easy to find.

Prob would be overkill, could only cool it to ambient temp at best so I guess it wouldnt have a negative effect. Maybe the power steering fluid would be too dense?

The loop failed on one of my older cars - it's in the dirt and crud getting kicked up in the offside wing.
I replaced it with a direct piece of piping of suitable quality - it's on the low pressure side. Advice at the time I did it was that it was only in very hot climates that a cooler was needed and for the more temperate climate of the Uk it wasn't necessary.
It never caused any problems in the remainder of the time I had it.

I'd agree with Steve - not really necessary in the UK. That said I probably have one in my stash of parts, but they are with my indie so it isn't easy to look for it. I could put you in touch if you really want one, but I wouldn't bother personally.
