Power steering fluid leak 987

Morning all,
Asking advice about a fluid leak from power steering near side front boot on my 987. A noise coming from nearside rear I’m guessing means the pump is low on fluid. Is it true that this could mean a new steering rack as it’s a sealed unit, or there any serviceable parts under that rubber boot? Rather unfortunate tbh as I have the car for sale at the moment, and can’t get it booked in for a couple of weeks. So advice would be much appreciated, or indeed a if there’s a capable enthusiast out there looking for a project car with generous allowance on cost!! ????
Thanks for reading, and any advice/replies/offers much appreciated!

Afraid that sounds like a new or reconditioned rack it's sealed . If using the car still you need to keep the fluid topped up to keep the pump happy.

Good luck with the fix.

Western reconditioned my 993 rack about 3 years ago - so far for good. (Not that I've done many miles). The shortage of used 993 racks meant I had to have mine taken off and sent away and wait for it to be sent back - but they only took a few days.

Assuming that a RHD rack is a mirror of this diagram ...

Maybe a pipe union - the sealing ring (4) - the joint where the inner track rod (6) meets the rack body

Is the gaiter / bellows split ?
