Power steering pump removal

Hi - I have looked for an existing thread - but couldn't find one - so my question. I wanted to reseal my pump over the weekend, but failed when trying to get the front pivot bolt off. The rear one slid out OK, but nothing seems to move the front one. Is the bush in the bracket supposed to slide out? Or am I missing something obvious?

The car is an 87 Lux
 
Not sure that I'm understanding the problem - but as far as I remember / can see on mine, the front pivot is a threaded stud on the pump which passes through a bracket (with a sleeve?) and has a nut & washer on the end - i.e front/top of the pump. You loosen the front nut and rear pivot bolt, slacken & disconnect the adjuster bar, get the belt off, disconnect the lines, remove the rear pivot bolt and front nut, and the pump pulls back and down/out. Hope this helps... last minute thought - I understand the setup is different if aircon is fitted - so if you have air, please feel free to ignore me! [:D]
 
Thanks Steve, no aircon, and your advice sounds right - maybe I'm just not trying hard enough. My pump doesn't seem to be able to go back far enough to let the front stud clear the bracket
