Power window operation with key remote

Anyone know how to re-activate power window control to enable external use with the remote key? I think it has been deactivated on my car and I find the function useful at times. I had a good look in the owners manual but couldn't find anything. Cheers.

There was a problem with this, too many owners wre returning to their cars to find the windows open. I think the root cause lies with the sensitivity of the buttons on the remote key but the short-term fix has been to deactivate the remote window operation. Long-term Porsche need to improve the key design. In a similar vein the operation of the boot release now requires a longer duration key press. It may be possible to get your OPC to reactivate the window operation but I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks Allan, I remember people having troubles with this issue. I didn't have any probs with my Boxster as i had to be pretty close to get them to operate with the key. But I hear your advice.

The option is known as "comfort" and came enabled on my vehicle - the OPC can enable/disable it. Disappointingly however on the current release it is not possible to configure the comfort lock close (key in door) to close the sunroof from the outside of the vehicle. I personally like to be able to close the vehicle without having to reach back in, put the ignition on etc. and similarly to open the windows in advance is useful on a hot day. I am aware that the remote keys have caused problems and simply don't keep them in my trouser pockets to avoid this.

Meanwhile I have suffered from the window dropping (once only) which was put down to a faulty door microswitch (internal), initially adjusted to correct but eventually replaced - the features were: window did not always close up after shutting door until lock triggered; remote window open/close operation was intermittent; a very very occasional double beep from alarm system when ignition turned on (N.B. not when locking vehicle as per manual). The OPC were hard pushed to identify the cause of the faults deterministically due to the intermittent problems and a lack of error logging on the computer.

I can't recall the thread in which I posted this, but this suggestion has been around a while now. I used to have problems with dropping windows and the occasional unlocked boot, but this has been cured for me by always locking the car manually. 100% OK so far. Just an idea.... Good luck, Robert
