I have an 88 3.2 carrera cab and the drivers power window has stopped working.
I changed the switches around, and even replaced one switch, and this did not solve the problem.
I disassembled the door and window mechanism to retreive the motor, and put 12v accross it - and it worked fine.
I have tracked the problem down to the Window Closer - a black box (100mm X 75mm X 40mm with three wires coming out of it) with a part no of 999.999.713.00, I switched the two window connections around, and the passenger side stopped working and the drivers worked - so this box is faulty.
I have not found the part listed anywhere, so now have three choices - go to OPC to see if they have one, get a 2nd hand one, or look at the electronics myself.
There is a possible fourth option - Rovers use a similar box to control the windows, I could try retro fitting one of these.
Has anyone come accross this as a problem, and what was the solution.
Thanks
Anthony
