powerflex bushes

Hi, I looking to purchase a Powerflex bush kit but I'm not to sure on a few parts I should order. Any help would be most welcome and if any one has these fitted, I would like to hear their opinions on them. My car is an 1989 turbo with the MO30 suspension. First I need to know, is the front wish bone rear bush "round" or the "D" shaped one. The second thing, is the front anti roll bar mounting 25.5, 26.8 or 30mm. Third is do I order the Front anti roll bar eye bolt bush PFF57-205 for the MO30 or the PFF57-206. Forth and final question is which size rear anti roll bar bush, 14, 16, 18, 19, or 20mm. Is it possible to find the answers without having to look and measure the parts my self as I can't get access to my car at the moment. A parts list and diagram can be found at http://www.powerflex.co.uk/i/product_images/3-PORSCHE%20968,%20944(85-91).pdf With much thanks Gary [8|]

I just replaced mine with powerflex, I also uprated my ARBs at the same time to 968 m030. I got all the parts from Promax, give them a ring, tell Andy what you've got and he'll tell you what you need, you MIGHT need your chassis number though. He was excellent help when I was doing a load of work, I couldn't recommend him enough. I don't know prices of the bushes unfortunately as it came as a kit with the ARBs.
If your eye bolt bushes are like mine I'd replace them, mine looked in a bad way, with some corrosion from the alu control arm.

EDIT: I haven't had chance to drive the car much since the upgrade, but it doesn't feel any harsher to be honest. I also think the ARBs are now showing up the 20 year old struts + springs [:D] Which would be the next job..........

Any idea on their resistance to oil?

And Simon, would you recommend something else over the PF bushes for the ARB on a standard S2?

Could you let me know why Simon. I don't want to purchase these just for the sake of it. I've already had the ARB'S done and would like to know from people in the know and because I know far too little and cost could be an issue in todays current climate. I'm also looking to upgrade to possibly Gaz or KW'S so any advice would be great.

Personally, Id go with ARB bushes only and replace the rest with original 944/968 parts.

Seconded.

The ARB bushes need to be located properly to work to their best utilising torsion so both ends need to be solidly mounted to maximise this. Originally Porsche used rubber as it is cheap but flexes and compresses and reduces the ARB effectiveness a bit.

If its a road car the slight compliance of OEM rubber mounts is a benefit and designed to remove harshness and vibration. On the road with aftermarket bushes you will introduce a stiffer less compliant ride for no real benefit whatsoever. The only caveat is to replace your caster mounts with 968 type as the OEM ones are a spongy mess by now if original. The 968 ones have far less rubber and are available as standard now.

If its a track car and the suspension is tested to its limits and you dont want the OEM bushes to create geometry inaccuracies when loaded then use alternatives (such as Powerflex)

Pauls hit the nail on the head. 968 parts have superceded 944 parts, so thats all you can buy from an OPC. EMC built racers use OEM bushes/mounts now, having initially used delrin bushes.

Delrin is not affected by oil, but youll want to lubricate the (delrin) bushes that you do use to prevent squeeking suffucient to drive you mad!
