Powerflow silencers.

Do any 993 owners have any experience of using Powerflow silencers on their 993. They are listed as "Sports" and as I have a Targa I am concerned about excess noise or drone within the cabin when the roof is open.

Any comments good or bad would be appreciated before I spend the money.

Hi,

I don’t have experience of Powerflow, however I had a Supersprint exhaust on my Targa when I bought it, without the turndowns. It was far too loud for my liking, and definitely resonated in the cabin, so I changed it back to a standard setup pretty much immediately. With the roof up or down the standard exhaust sounds great as you move up through the rev range anyway, and is pretty unobtrusive at town/cruising speeds.

To be fair I did like the noise the Supersprint made, but I couldn’t have lived with it on what was an everyday driver.

It might be worth finding someone with the system you’re considering, if possible, and having a listen Before you invest a lot of money.

Regards/John

Thanks to John and Maurice for your replies. The RSR mufflers look interesting and I will give these serious consideration before buying anything else. I like the fact that they stipulate no drone or resonance.
Maurice, do you know if they rework your own mufflers or just supply exchange units? If the former then mine aren't in very good condition.
