JUST PUTTING THE £ DOWN ON A 9974S: 1ST TIME P BUYER. ANY THOUGHTS ON THE POWERKIT OPTION...WASTE OF MONEY OR JOY TO BEHOLD? MANY THANKS.

If you can afford it, do it.

There are other threads on this if you search back a month or two, the kit basically gives you a bit more of everything including a headline power figure the same as the outgoing GT3. Cant be bad.

hi there. i agree, get it if you can, and as per the other threads on option choice, the sports exhaust is a popular one.

enjoy!

997 C4S with aerokit cup.

What I would say is to check your insurance costs for adding the Powerkit. I was quoted a huge amount more each year with the option. Combined with the cost of the Powerkit in the first place I didn't see how I could justify the extra 26bhp. [:(]

When I got my car I chose between a 997C2S +Powerkit vs a 997C2S Cab, about the same price but I haven't regretted the decision once. My first Porsche, my first Cab "" what a combination! [:D]

I would also add that if you do go for a Coupe with the Powerkit option then the -20mm Sport Suspension I hear is a must. Finding an OPC with a demo -20mm car to try out though is another problem all together! I believe there may be only 1 in the UK right now.

Good luck!

Personally I think that the £8k or whatever it costs is pretty unnecessary, and £6.5k of it will be a waste of money - the £1.5k for the Porsche Spors exhaust will be money well spent!!

From what I've seen, very little of this money is recovered at re-sale, and while that shouldn't be a reason for choosing (or not choosing) particular options, it is worth considering.

Have you test driven a 997 C4S and decided it's not quick enough already - what did you own previously.

How about changing your order for a GT3 instead, which will have similar power ?
