PPF to A pillars and front edge of roof

Sorry if this subject has been covered before, did a search and no results came up.

My 718 GT4 has front end ppf installed but I omitted to have the A pillars and just the front edge of the roof done. Just would like your thoughts, comments and if you have any photo examples that would be great. I'm concerned at how visible the ppf edge will be on the roof and how far it should go back. I do track the car and have noticed on our 981 that it has picked up a few chips on the leading edge of the roof. If the whole roof is done then where do you stop as the roof and the rear wings are all one section. Any comments/suggestions much appreciated.

TIA Chris

Mine has pdf on A pillars and front of roof, the latter extends about 6'' Make sure they cover from top of glass to roof as the strikes I've had seen to be just above the glass. Some fitters have A pillar and Front edge of roof in a one piece pattern and others such as Topaz use two pieces. If you polish with Autogylm or similar you'll get a white reside line just as you will on any other visible pdf join but with a clear type of sealant or polish it is not that obvious.

Thank you for your reply, I do not use a polish that leaves a residue and is absolutely clear so shouldn't be an issue. I'll check what method the installer will be using, I guess one piece preferred. If you have any photos I would be very interested in having a look. Regs Chris

Thanks very much for that. Can't really notice from the front view and only the slightest line from the rear view which is masked nicely by the reflections.

I just love the whiteboard on Ralph’s garage wall - what’s that got on it, best lap times at tracks visited through this year? 👍🏻😆

It's mainly maintenance stuff - when last checked, tyre pressures, tread depth, oil, brake pads, MOTs etc for Porky and the fleet. All in one place.

This from Black Falcon's pit box at the NLS 24 hour race is a more serious list

Mm! Looks as though that broom might have seen better days Ralph? 😀

Good to see that the suspended tennis ball trick for parking guidance is still alive and kicking ! [;)]

Was reminded of this when visiting Richard Hamilton

Aye the balls a good tip, I have a piece of blue tape on the wall to the side - when I’m in line with that I stop. But the ball is a way cooler and far more elegant solution 👍🏻
