PPI Inspections

I'm almost ready to go with my budget set (sadly!) at around 9.5 thousand. I've studied the Peter Morgan guides religiously and seem to have arrived at the decision to go with a 911 SC as it seems as though you can get genuinely good cars for this kind of money. With my lack of experience I think it will take more than just Mr. Morgan's invaluable help to ensure that I snare a good one! I was wondering what advice members could give me regarding inspections? Does anyone have any particular recommendations for people in the London area who would do an inspection? If Bones reads this, I will be tapping you up for more advice soon!

Ring the club office but I know from personal experience that Autofarm, ask for Jack Phillips, Autostrasse, ask for Ken or Alan or Chris Turner, speak to Chris or Darren could do this for you. I believe Peter Morgan does so too, I think I've seen an advert somewhere.
Good Luck , take your time.

Have a look at www.petermorgan.org.uk

He offers inspections for £245; probably money well spent.

Hi Alex,

Can vouch for the high quality of Peter's work. His reports make very interesting reading for both buyer and seller alike and there is no question that they can save you multiples of what they cost. Drop him an email from his site and get the ball rolling!

Good luck with the SC, definitely the way to go.

Cheers

I don't think you could fault Peter Morgan's inspections if you feel the cost is a little high maybe you could get the seller to pay half if you buy the car.

Good luck with finding your car. There are a lot of sharks out there, including private sellers. Ask me how I know.... I'm looking for a car too.

I don't suppose it matters where they are does it? (the PPI folks I go with). I mean they don't necessarily have to meet with me in Central London and then go look at the car with me do they? Or do they?

I guess the trick with an inspection is to give the seller your word that you'll buy the car subject to a good inspection report and then get the PPI people in before the seller gets a cash buyer!

I'll definitely go the PPI route, with my inexperience (but enthusiasm!) it's a true no-brainer. I'll make a list of all the people everyone's mentioning. Thanks to everyone who replied. Does anyone know why I am a non-member? I seem to have a membership card with a number and have paid my subscription?!

Good luck with the hunt send your membership details and login name to Sophia at the club office and she will change your on line status to member.

I can highly recommend Trevor Messet for a PPI - quite a bit cheaper than the prices mentioned above, see here..

might be worth giving him a call
