PPi

Just hopping over from the SC side. Looking at purchasing a 88 3.2 Coupe. I live in Manchester and the car is in Essex. Anybody down that way that can travel to do a PPi. I am fairly confident as what to look for as already have an SC but would feel better with a PPi.

Hi,
I would recommend Peter Morgan, (Porsche 3.2 buyers guide author) he did a 180 point PPI for me and it was excellent. He lives in Wilts so I dont know if he will travel to Essex, but its got to be worth asking him.
his email is inspections@petermorgan.org.uk
If he can't do it I expect he knows someone else who can.
Good luck with the 3.2..if you get a good one you'll love it.
regards
Graham

Thanks Graham, have already contacted Peter Morgan but does not travel into Essex, and i have had no response from him recomending anybody else.

Thanks for the advice John. I know i might get shouted it and tut tutted by people, but i may take a flyer if the car stacks up well. I have owned my SC for a while and have every buyers guide published and work in the motor trade myself so i feel i have a pretty good idea what to look for and i know these cars can cost you, but i know the original seller of the car (He originally supplied my SC to the chap who had it before me) so i feel confident of the condition. Plus I have a very good relationship with my independant up here who is on the other end of the 'phone. I am just about to duck and take cover now with my cavalier attitude!!!!

I hear you mate, I wouldn't bother with PPI's myself now either, only interested in buying SC's and 3.2's and know where to look and what repairs cost so why spend PPI money

Good luck with it, sounds a nice car from what I have read elsewhere.

Cheers, JG

Thanks for the support John. Would be different if I was looking at a 964 or 993 then i think the ppi is a must. Anyway have bought the car today. I have never seen such clean rust free car. 43k miles from new and not a mark anywhere looks like a two year old car. Can't wait for the big day[:)]

Hi Paul, Twas I. I remember your 3.2 with the lovely polished wheels. How is the car going? John will e-mail the images over to you(very kind of you mate).

All's well thanks Dan. The polished wheels are not to everyone's taste but I think it works well on a black car.

Cheers
Paul
