Read the piece in PPost about event attendance, I must admit in the past having attended quite a few events in the Cayenne and generally not seen many others there. One reason is certainly that many owners have other Porsches and the Cayenne is the workhorse so you take the sportscar to the club events.
Some of it may be a demographic who buy the car on reputation as a luxury SUV and aren't really sportscar people (sorry, tongue in cheek that last bit!).
Maybe also there's an embarrassment factor, you certainly can't deny it's a proper Porsche but it isn't a traditional sportscar, and that's what so much of PCGB has been based around - which suggests over time thing may change as the club itself evolves.
Reading the forum posts, lots of questions not a wealth of expertise providing answers - not perhaps surprising these cars are complicated things, a lot more on American forums where more people seem to do their own maintenance. There certainly a lack of post regarding off road activities. I return to the idea these are the workhorses of the family and don't get treated to the special days out!
However, I will be attending R4's day out in the Cayenne and hope to see others there.
Finally, none of the above is intended to annoy or offend, being a late night ramble not to be taken too seriously!
