Hi,
Didn't see any input on the 3.2 Carrera in July's registers section in PP.
Have I got a page missing?[:)]

During the years when I was Register Director the requirement that I made of the popular Registers (not specialist cars such as 924 Carrera GT , Club Sport etc.) was a report every other issue. Anyone who has been a Register Secretary will understand the feeling each month of sitting in front of a blank screen and trying to come up with a few hundred words.
The 3.2 Carrera Register was one of the top scorers in 2001, 2002, 2003 and the first few months of 2004 ( my tenure as Director).
It is significant that on the one month that a report is missing someone noticed. How about writing something for the report and giving your R/S some help?

Thanks Geoff. As you know, I am stepping down as RS (details of which will be published in next issue of PPost) so I guess it is now somewhat irrelevant. However, I have prided myself that I never missed a monthly report and not only did I carry out loads of research, on the other hand I have also sat for many hours wondering what to write.

This missing report from the current magazine was as a result of the Manx Tour and not allowing me to meet the deadline on time - ironic really!

I concur with what Geoff has said.
During my time as Regional Director and R18 RO, you always sent excellent copy when you started the IOM Sub Region and then extremely informative copy when you became the 3.2 RS shortly afterwards. Doing both was not easy by any means. Well done indeed. Your dedication and knowledge will be missed.

Now that Tony has announced his departure as 3.2 Register Secretary I will give a few details about the register. I apointed Tony at the end of 2000. At that time this register was far the worst of the 30 that I responsible for. There were NO cars on the Register. Within 1 year Tony had changed all that and within 2 years it was in the top 3 performers. Tony had built up a small team to help him and all this despite being seperated from the mainland by one of the most difficult and expensive sea routes in the British Isles.
It should berealised that during much of this time Tony also organised the Isle of Man sub Region and later it became Region 30. Any one of the 500 Club members who have attended one of our Manx Tours owes a debt of gratitude to Tony as he has been my strong right hand in all of these events. I hope that he will continue in that capacity for the for seeable future.
Thank you Tony.

Sorry off topic; is Manx Grand Prix (racing) the week commencing 29 August?

We're over that week (staying at Jeremy Clarkson's!!!), so might see you.

Mike C.

Hi Mike

MGP : 20th - 27th Practice : 28th - 2nd Races.

Mail me off line and we'll make a plan to get together.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Hi Mike.
I am unable to make the MGP this year and will be doing my bit for the 911 2.7 & Carrera 3 Register plus Region 31 at Brands Hatch instead. Not the coice that I would have made if all thing were equal.
That will make it MGP 18 / PCGB 2. As far as that week of the year is concerned.
Geoff
