Poole Tourism have been let down by the Ford Capri Owners for an event in August. So because they were more than impressed with our efforts they have invited us to attend another evening.
21st August - 6pm till 9pm
No need to book, just arrive and enjoy the atmosphere.
Obviously we are not aiming for the same numbers just a good showing.
If your interested please indicate here.

A Bit of a no brainer for future summer's by the quay if you ask me, if my memory serves me correct the capri guy's had a friday night every month through the summer and porsches had May only, Capri's [8|] or Porsche's[8|], well what do you think.[;)]

It must be hard for a single model car club... once out of production the numbers available are only ever going to decline.

I had my reservations about "doing" more than one Poole Quay event a year anyway, as the fear is people will say "we'll go to the next one", and you don't get the attendance... but now if that happens - hey - we should still have 50 cars there, so it should remain a worthwhile event! That said, this one isn't well known, late organised etc, so I am expecting it to be "low key"... I shall be very disappointed if we don't get more than three cars though!

Hi Tref, I've been to the last two Poole Quay events with different cars. Enjoyed looking at all the different metalwork, but never managed to actually meet anyone from Dorset Region?
Would it be worth having a point where R26 members might congregate? Somewhere like the Portsmouth Hoy! at some time during the evening. Might help recruit some new members?

Most of us seem to end up annoying the staff at The Thistle late in the evening! We aren't allowed advertising as such on the Quay, and much as we would like to, we can't "organise" the parking - it is very much "plonked in the order of arrival"

How-ever... If we know some-one is interested, We'll make sure there is an obvious presence in a particular spot so you can find us. I'll look forward to meeting you down there!

Regards,

Tref.

Ah-ha! If bumping the post has just got us one more car on the Quay, it has been worthwhile! Lets have another go!

Look forward to seeing you there.

For anyone coming, there is the Bournemouth airshow at the pier on the 21st which runs from 11.00 till 5.00, then over to Poole Quay, then back to Bournemouth for the fireworks at 10.00pm.

Your more than welcome. Be sure to introduce yourself to us. Ask around for Dorset region Porsche club members.

OK, I guess is best to tun up around 18h00 to have a chance to park up nicely.
I'll try to leave the office early for once. See you all there.

An excellent evening. Thanks to everyone who turned up especially those who had travelled from as far away as London, Kent and the Midlands. Congratualations to Christine who's White 930 was awarded "Car of the Night".[8D] We had 72 cars on the quay, which was a great turnout for what was supposed to be a low key event.[;)]
