Pre Purchase Inspections

Hi guys

Could anyone recommend someone for a pre-purchase independent inspection in the Glasgow area? Car in question is a Boxster. I know of the OPC 111 point check, but was looking for an alternative.

I used George Morrison in Rutherglen for my PPI in March last year, detailed job and knows his stuff. Cost £75+VAT but a worthwhile exercise.

Hi I would recommend George as well as I used to use him when I had the 993.

However if the Boxster does not come with the extended warranty and you are considering getting it only the OPC 111 point check will suffice.

I just bought my 997 from a dealer in Perth and put it through Edi OPC at acost of £150 +vat and they found 16 minor faults that didn't affect the extended warranty I purchased.

Hi Peter,

Porsche will only give you the £895 a year warranty if your car passes there 111point pre-purchase inspection. So just be wary that G.Morrison may give it a clean bill of health but Porsche may not.

Where are you in the country ? Come along to a meeting local to you and ask the guys there if they know of any cars or would help you look at cars. There are a fair few guys who would help you and who know what they are looking for.You might even get a car recommended to you.

I'm sure either would be nice, but being a Boxster owner I wouldn't consider a 996 cabrio. There are a number of indy dealers across central Scotland who I'm sure you could get to insect a car.

There are meetings of PCGB members in Glasgow and Edinburgh once a month. Come along to one if you can. Nice bunch

I used Peter Morgan Consultants when I bought my 911. They purely specialise in Porsche inspections . Very decent people who eat, breath & sleep Porsche . The inspection process is thorough to the extreme.
