"Preparation Vehicle Tracking System" ....

Hi All

I'm just about to purchase a 55 Boxster S which has, as the OPC describes it, "Preparation Vehicle Tracking System" ... does this mean it has a tracker installed and I just need to pay the annual subscription or that it has a "couple of cables pre-installed" waiting for me to pay for all the hardware, installation and subscription ?

Thanks

Roy

It means you've got a couple of cables and you need to pay for the installation of the device (~£950) and a years subscription (~£200)

I suppose I knew that that was the answer really ! ... I also need to be able to use a child seat in the front and thought "ISO Preparation" meant that it was ready for a ISO car seat ... looks as though this is a £300 option for the ISO brackets too ... Porsche certainly know how to charge for options !

Thanks

Roy

I'd take a photo of your wallet now to remind of how it used to be! [;)]

Its strange but I've never seen a car for sale at an OPC with a tracking device actually fitted- makes you wonder if they take them out while preparing them.

Its because there not allowed to advertise the fact.Practically all will have some kind of tracking device.

my cayman s bought from opc guildford as an ex demo had the porsche vts system fitted so i "only "had to pay the cobra annual fee-but interestingly when i collected the car from opc hatfield(who brought it over from guildford as it is part of their group along with opc west london)they were realy surprised it had the tracker fitted as they thought it was just "prepared "as mentioned in the start of this thread-i got the distinct impression that if they had known that it had the tracker fitted they would have added an extra grand to the price-luckily i had already signed off the finance....

Just picked up my car and the dealer was suprised to find a Tracker envelope when running through the documentation with me ! A Tracker (Monitor) had been installed after all !!!

A quick call to Tracker and a £30 transfer fee and £119 per annum and all sorted !
