not sure if this thread is appropriate .No doubt someone will kindly tell me if it isn't and I'll remove it.

I am interested to find out if any of my cars have been previously owned by other members . Perhaps we can fill in a little history about our cars maybe even find some old documents service history etc .
I'll start the ball rolling with my tribe .

don't know except it may not be considered appropriate by the webmaster or whoever runs the register. Data protection Act may be relevant don't know [;)]

OK, understand, I can see how the RO might not be able to release peronal details.

I've seen other threads where the RO has made comments along the lines of "car X has been in the register since date Y, I'll email the previous owner and see if he wants to respond to this thread"

But past owners can reveal anything they like about themselves!

I know all the previous owners of my car (or at least I have their names/addresses at times they owned the car) but I was just lucky that a few old records in it's file allowed me to piece things together. DVLA will actually release this info to you if you can explain a legit reason for wanting to know. (I would think that the Cat C question would count as a legit reason). Don't know how you go about this, but again I've seen threads on this before.

I'm an RS.......[:)]

It is obviously impossible to release any of the details on the database. Especially on an open forum which is used by as many non-members as members.....

I'd rather assumed that members would rather the database was kept privat and secure. There is a recent thread in the members section on this very topic!
