(Reg removed from title now) Metallic Black turbo It had a private plate on it at some point but 4 previous owners so I figure someone here might know it? There aren't that many about.

Also does anyone know where to find the top gear review of the 996 turbo. I refuse to believe it was never featured but I can only find the 5th gear review?! Unless it's been incorrectly posted and was from Tiff's last days at top gear? Can't remember how old 5th gear is now.

I think Tiff's review was when he was with Top Gear. The one here: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/100854/504856 is credited to TG. Can't help with the car I'm afraid. Edit: Hang on. If it is W reg, it must have been registered before 1st September 2000. Perhaps it is one of the 16 MY2000 996 Turbos. Check the 10th digit of the VIN. If it is Y, then it is.

Many thanks. Its a July 2000. I know a fair bit about the 911 turbo but there is always so much more to learn! What is this about the my 2000 cars and does it mean its likely to have been an abused press car, now I've already handed over my hard earned[&:] ? Oh well never mind. I have great faith in the 996 tt build quality and a short time spent in the Hartech workshop only confirmed that for me. Can't be too much harm done with only 45k on the clock. edit to add I'll let you know about the VIN when I pick it up on Sunday. p.p.s. found it [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJemsVMhEhs]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJemsVMhEhs[/link] not very good, or factually accurate. I think I prefer Tiff's review. The end of the top gear one made me chuckle though[;)]

What is the 10th digit of the VIN? Y or 1? They made 16 Turbos for MY2000 (up to 31st August 2000) and I would assume they were all press cars, although that's just a guess. If you fill in a DVLA V888 form, which costs £5, you can get a complete record of the owner history, including photocopies of all the V5's. The best £5 I spent on mine. If you find it was 911 HUL, maybe it's the one in the Tiff video? I can't make up my mind if it is Lapis Blue or Black, but the interior looks like Metropole.

Excellent advice. The car is specified highly like a press car [&:] I know they only use a limited number of press number plates but the '911 HUL' plate was definitely on a blue car in the top gear clip.. I'm just worried that the 'demo' car driven by the stig looked a very shiny metallic black and this car is Code - L744 Black Metallic Pearl Effect

I think the TG review must have been done later. The car looks to be Cobalt blue, and it looks like it might have ceramics. Definitely not the same car as in Tiff's review. TG also show the C4S, which came out much later than the Turbo. The black car in that doesn't wear 911 HUL, and has a personal plate, so probably isn't a press car.

hmmm...I have a sharon....but the amanda was a very low mileage looked after model methinks...[:D][:D][;)]

I'm more of a legs man than a breast man, the legs 11 is right up my street. Plus the turbo has got the legs on most things[;)]
