Price / availability of C4S's?

Looking for a C4S, but there seem to be hardly any around, and those that are are around £43k (not seen one lower than this yet).

Is this about the level they are at now, or are these particularly pricey examples? I was thinking I could pick up a good example for less than £40k, but am I really just dreaming?

If anyone knows of a good C4S for sale, I'd be very interested, thanks.

(just been offered a C4, 33k miles, 96P, for £35k, 18"'s, sports exhaust, that looks very tidy, but heart is really set on a C4S).

Just to whet your appetite - this is my 4S - 98, complete with special equip't air intakes as per the Turbo S. Artic silver, full black leather - lovely!![:D] and RSR sports exhausts so it sounds the part!

Hi Bungle

Like you, my wife and I had our hearts set on a good (i.e. mint) 993 4S but after months of searching we could not find one that we could honestly put hand on heart that was worth the best part 35-40K that private owners or garages were asking. There were some real dogs out there, that felt and smelt really old ( the wife calls them stinkers by the way! ) and so it got us looking at newer cars which would much better for my poorly back!

A new model Boxster S was the choice, but we eventually ended up with a 996 Cab C2 with just 952 miles from new. Yes we did get a great deal and to be honest it's a completely different car than a 993. IMHO it is equally good to look at, faster if that's what you want, very competant on the road and better equipped all round. In other words it's a modern Porsche. It suits us well and it will hopefully give many years of trouble free miles (RMS not withstanding!!!!) as I am no longer able to 'mess about' under cars anymore.

A 993 S was my initial want, but they are getting on a bit now in age and technology, and I nearly let my heart rule the way. There are some beautiful examples out there I know, but they are few and far between.

I am pleased I chose the 996, I love it and I know I made the right choice.

At least this is food for thought for you.

I still very much like the taste of food of the a-la-carte 993....

Stock 996 is too much like a ready meal for me !

some more food for thought...[:-]

Wonder what rattled your cage? Seemed to have hit a nerve somewhere.
Comments noted - but I disagree with your reply, to which you are entitled. I merely added additional information for 'Bungle' to consider, which is always helpful to consider or not.

Oh - by the way, I have reduced the font size of your reply that was just a little unecessary and OTT.

Thanks for the comments folks - I do appreciate the alternate point of view (but still want a good 993 C4S, IF I can find one that is!)

It is always worth a look on ebay, there have been some nice cars on there from time to time .................

Thanks - already on the case there[:D]

Looks like it could take me as long - whenever I do seem to find a half-decent one, it's been sold already[:(]
I must learn to be quicker off the mark!

If you don't mind LHD there are lots of C4S available on the continent. They are a bit cheaper too!

A good start is www.mobile.de

Hope you find what you want.
